re: If your trying to say that the action of imposing price controls or import barriers is likely to help the economy than I disagree.

Some import barriers help, some hurt. It's not a black and white, ideological world.

But when I was talking about government helping the economy, I was talking in a more general sense. Government is wonderful for commerce, without it we would still be bartering beans for corn (or whatever for whatever).
