re: Any serious attempt at "oil independence" within the next 15 years isn't worth what we would have to spend to get there. The attempt would be massively expensive, it would most likely be unsuccessful, and even if successful it would be less beneficial than you seem to think it would be.

It simple and relatively cheap. The stimulus of the extra dollars will boost the economy. And most importantly, we can't afford not to.

What specifically do you think is so expensive?
