The slaughter on Iwo was over too much, IMO. Everybody now goes "over the top" to show you the gore just as graphically as possible. Seen one severed head, seen them all.

I can't figure out what he was trying to do dramatically with some of the homefront stuff. For instance, his version of "The Andrews Sisters" was three very ugly women. And he did it twice. I like them, and have seen them on the screen. They don't anywhere near that bad.
