Instead, he claimed, it would rely on "more brute force" on the ground. Marine General Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said: "You need precision intelligence to drop precision munitions. And a lot of our assets are currently being used in the Gulf region." North Korea sparked fear and anger across the world by carrying out a nuclear test on October 9. Gen Pace added the US still has "two million folks who can start protecting this nation anywhere else we need them".
