Reality time...

AMD will gain %15 speed improvement at 64 bit os
Intel will gain %10 speed improvement at 64 bit os
net gain on Intel + %5....

AMD's die area will be much smaller than Intel's at 65nm
We do not know how much of a speed gain 65nm will bring AMD (at least improved energy consumption)...

AMD's motherboards are probably cheaper (not quality-wise)
AMD's product perception is now considered quality now (big plus)

For those looking for ultimate desktop performance they will gravitate to the quad cores...dual cores in most circumstance still offer very good performance...

If laptop chips are improved next quarter as well as server chips whats the debate over desktop superiority for...fantasy competetion...LOL

AMD products will fill a lot of gaps left open by Intel...
