Hi, I think today is an important day in the development of IT and specifically Linux or open source software. Oracle has proven that the Linux model is a failure. When one company can come in and take away your user base by offerring superior support services you are doomed to fail. On the other hand, Oracle's software is proprietary but it is being written to be all open source. There is a big difference here. It is not available to anyone for free but is being written under a open standard. This may be one of the smartest moves I have seen Oracle do. They now have a complete software stack and with any luck take alot of business away from both Redhat and Microsoft. Alydar.
