I think you have a point but I don't think nearly so many PICs will be produced. I don't even think the entire segment is that large and not all of them will be PICs.

First of all I'm skeptical that 50 by 15 can really be reached. Secondly the 50 by 15 is 50 percent of the whole world, which implies less than 50% of the less developed world. Also you have to consider competition (and if the market takes off that much there will be competition) plus the fact that some of these sales may be instead of a more normal low end computer (rather than instead of nothing, or in addition to a normal low end computer).

None of which means that there isn't a chance that AMD will make profits, perhaps even very large profits, on PICs or something like them, but talk about 1 billion PICs a year isn't very realistic IMO.
