That first paragraph caused me to lose all confidence in the article, too. If a sailing ship is dragging anchor in a storm and headed for the rocks, the last thing a captain would do is cut the anchor rope and run with the wind. I mean, hey, the wind is blowing the ship into the rocks dragging the anchor, so what happens when you cut the anchor chain? You go into the rocks faster! Kinda stupid to call everyone else "landlubbers" when the author's own analogy isn't very shipwise.
