The products are close to par, the current lead belongs to Intel, the architectural advantages belong to AMD.

AMD held the lead for a couple of years, and Intel has reclaimed it for a couple of months.


I believe Intel's lead will last as far into the future as we can reasonably project at this time. And I believe the architectural advantage is vastly overstated. Intel's upcoming chipsets will allow for a fullspeed point to point connection for each of 4 processors. The FSB will no longer be a bottleneck. Claims to the contrary are exaggerated.

Yes Intel is an ocean liner but we are headed out into deep water...
