Main reasons why VOIP is not fully deployed yet

For detractors of this company and people who put blame on HA for not developing the VOIP business case fast enough, read this:

airvananet.com

"Previous generations of mobile data networks did not support the stringent quality-of-service requirements that VoIP and multimedia applications demand. "

TRANSLATION: Even if a carrier implemented VOIP in the past, they are not going to draw much benefits because the old network does not offer sufficient QoS, period. Imagine putting a 500 horsepower engine under the hood of a Volskwagen bug.

Today new mobile networks will implement EVDO Rev A for CDMA and UMTS for GSM.

For us investors, it should not matter how the company did in the past but we should be looking for a positive change to a company prospect instead. Basically we are looking for bad --> (to) good or good --> (to) excellent. The following is not OK for the stock: good --> bad, excellent --> good.

So the fact that VOIP is going from not being ubiquitous to become a must have in every NGN is very positive for SONS, so if you think that HA screwed up the company in the past, we should thanks him now because it gives you a buying opportunity.
