And I believe the architectural advantage is vastly overstated. Intel's upcoming chipsets will allow for a fullspeed point to point connection for each of 4 processors. The FSB will no longer be a bottleneck. Claims to the contrary are exaggerated. So how much memory bandwidth will this chipset have? How many pins? How much will it cost? AMD's advantage is not just trouncing "the FSB bottleneck", it scales ALL resources much better and does it at a lower cost. Four Opteron sockets provide 8 DDR2 channels, and communicate over multiple point-to-point links without the need for a honkin' huge chipset. The bottom line is, Intel has to dump more and more resources into their chipset to match what is included with every Opteron. fpg
