I think the more interesting aspect of the responses on DU was the notion that the offending posts were made by some right wing trolls who should have no free speech rights; therefore their identities should just be turned over.

IOW, free speech (and privacy) rights only apply when the speaker/poster articulates the correct speech and ideas; i.e. hard left.

That syndrome seems to be shared by many on SI.

It's funny that so many people who express so much concern over the rights of terrorist suspects or enemy combatants, e.g., can be so willing to stifle viewpoints opposing their own on a range of topics even when they come from fellow citizens.
