You can't be serious about gasoline prices either. Obviously, the energy prices were manipulated upwards ever since Bush-Cheney first were nominated (and were close-close allies with Enron, the master manipulator of domestic energy prices). The phony excuses Big Oil has given us for the doubling of gas prices over the past few years are transparent. And look at the only three times prices have come down since June 2000:

- When Jeffords switched parties giving Dems subpoena powers to go after Cheney's secret Energy Task Force. The week before energy gougers were claiming a huge energy shortage in the US and not enough refineries. That refinery excuse is a big fat lie and used over and over.

- When Oil CEO's were called in to testify in congress. That was weeks after Katrina when they claimed there would be huge shortages. Suddenly, no shortage at all.

- When the GOP was in grave danger of losing control of congress. There is no reason given for the large drop in prices before the election. Notice that? So what is the reason? Pretty obvious. if Dems take congress they will investigate energy gouging and maybe windfall tax Big Oil.

Bob Woodward reported Prince Bandar saying to Bush in 2004 that if he wanted him to bring down oil prices before the 2004 election, he would. This proves the ability and motive. They do it whenever they need to do pacify angry consumers.

And as for unemployment, WAKE UP. The 4.7% unemployment numbers don't include tens of millions who have either given up looking, are part-timers, consultants, under-employed or otherwise not counted. The real figure is about 15%. But this was not the case in the 90's. Then we had truly full employment. The real prooof of full empoloyment is to look at the black teenager employment rate and the poverty numbers. Those are both way up under Bush. Also, today's jobs rarely include health care which is a huge-huge factor. And wages are not up, they are flat. You're not including inflation in your partisan claims.

Finally, Bush's jobs numbers are nowhere near as good as Clintons. CLinton created 22 million new jobs, and good jobs too. Bush has created something like 5 million which doesn't even keep up with the growth of new workers entering the work force.
