I'm not defending the book Pro. I haven't read Webb's fiction and don't plan to. For all I know, he described a bunch of demeaning degrading stuff about women in order to deplore the same. Fiction has good guys and bad guys. Writing what the bad guys do doesn't justify it. There is plenty of fiction out there to glorify degrading women. If Webb's fiction does that, then I agree it would prevent me from voting for him. I simply don't know. The fact that he's a Democrat is a lot more relevant to how I would vote.
