Sure, that's it - they just have chosen to leave us alone for 5 years. They haven't tried to attack us! Yeah, that's the ticket.

Of course, in reality they did promise more attacks on America, just haven't delivered. (Knock on wood.)

so us not getting hit so far is lucky.

Or maybe Al Qaida just has much easier targets elsewhere, like in Iraq, Europe and Indonesia.

Uh, saying Iraq, Europe and Indonesia are easier targets than the US conflicts with your primary theme.
