Good question. I think that Fox in that clip implied that a) this is how he "usually" feels, and b) the stem cell research in question would resolve his suffering.

But this is NOT how he usually feels. When he does take his regular medications, he most likely feels far better. By taking himself off medications, Fox may have made his point more graphic, but by failing to mention that he did so deliberately, he also - ethically - stepped onto a slippery slop. And people sense it.
