Somewhere I read that the meds used can actually exacerbate the symptoms.
But it really doesn't matter. What matters is that Rush was incredibly stupid in the way he did this. Had he said, "you know, when Fox testified before Congress, he admitted to stopping his meds so as to show the ravages of the disease- I wonder if he did this for this commercial because...."

But, no. he used the Rush sarcastic voice, that gee, he was either acting or off meds.
To accuse a person who has a serious disease of "acting" was very offensive-- even if had any truth to it, it was offensive. YOu can parse this all over the place, but the bottom line is that Rush stumbled politically.
I think spinning this so that Fox ethically stepped into slime territory is wishful thinking since you have no idea if he was off meds or not, and that it's Rush who looks slimier.

PErsonally, if Fox was off meds or not to make a point, so what? The disease is terrible. Fox off drugs shows you what it does, and current meds can only help so much.
