Alan where will you get car serviced.. at one of the local dealers i expect. if Honda has a program you can get a free loaner while car being service i expect dealer will not give you one. i ran across this with bmw dealer. i had warranty work to be done but car through a friend. i ask about loaner and they said only available if you bought car at this dealership.

That's only fair John. Can't expect a dealer to offer perks to someone who didn't get the car from him. OTOH, for many dealers, the service department is the real profit center rather than the sales floor. They ought to take good care of all of their service customers lest they go elsewhere.

FWIW, next car I buy will likely be a Toyota.

I'm friendly with the owner of the local dealership, as is my partner. Last time the partner got a car, he went to the dealer and said, "Gary, show me what you have and give me your best price." No negotiating. Dealer quoted a fair price, and my partner got a nice two-year used off-lease Avalon at a very fair price.

I plan to use the same approach when I buy.
