Well, Euterpe....Maybe there was a day BEFORE I heard him mention the book....but I don't think so. I posted the note I did on the morning of Thurs 26th. Had heard Rush speak a couple of days before, so on Monday the 23rd or Tues the 24th, when I heard him mention MJF's remarks, and quoted directly from MJF's book. I know I wasn't in the car on Monday morning, so I had to hear him on Tuesday.

He didn't mention the book until the next day when ....

Someone asked him the day I heard him about all the media (and others) that blasted him for "possible" drug abuse because of his ear problems.....He said he had heard that, and knew that because he was in the public view, and that he was a political figure, that he had to just deal with it. I don't recall any apologizing to Rush either.

Normally, I'm not too supportive Rush, but to be fair, I don't think that Rush said anything that hadn't been said of him as well. So where do we draw the line?

I think the bottom line is that Rush apologized for any perceived harm, but didn't apologize for the words he read from MJF's book.

The real bottom line is: are we going to insist that the Government fund research into EVERY ONE OF human ills? And how much is the amount of funding to be every year on EACH of these ills?

Talk about BIG Government spending.....

Are we as a Government going to spend the same amount of money we have for stem cells as we do for say....AIDS? And how much do we give to EACH type of cancer research??? And Diabetes....and Arthritis, and Drug Abuse and the effects of Meth, and for EVERY SINGLE DISEASE mankind contracts?

In a selfish way, I wish they would fund to the hilt a few diseases .....I could be noted as a "victim" of two or three of various diseases as well...but I haven't gone out of my way to campaign for government funding. Hopefully, those big bad drug companies are working on meds for the diseases, and that after they have spent Billions in R&D, then actually passing through ALL the MANY Government hoops for the drug to become open to the public, that we will be able to afford them.
