Jerry: Scripps is a rather famous medical institution located in San Diego County, CA. Research into one of the upcoming Protease Inhibitors, Viracept, from Agouron Pharmaceuticals, was done there. That said, I am mystified by the responses of our "doctor" friend. The 3TC/AZT combination has been used by many for a while. The triple drug combination IS in use. I do not know of many physicians or patients willing to sit around and wait for the CDC to get around to saying anything. People are being treated aggressively whenever possible/desired. Few patients have the luxury of time to find out what may or may not be best. Most will take any risk that has such apparent benefits, even if it eventually turns out to be short-term. Re: BCHXF, I have been thinking that is appears "fully priced" for the moment given their royalty agreement. As for PI's, the best coming to market is coming from AGPH. Has fewest side-effects of the new group out. We both know these drugs are not in competition with each other, but work best in combination with each other. If was our "doctor's" patient, I would have sought a better-informed and less cautious physician about six months ago at the latest.
