How would it exacerbate it? If oil production has peaked, then it is fated to decline every year from here on out - the reverse of the upward production curve of the past.

Then, there is what is left in the way of reserves. Light sweet crude, the cleanest, and most efficient to refine, peaked last year, I believe. May have been the year before; I'm just going off memory. What's left takes more energy to pump and refine, as it becomes heavier and more sour. There's a field off Saudi Arabia that is so heavy, sour (sulfur) and full of vanadium that nobody can even refine it.

So your thinking actually is total oil production hasn't peaked or is going to soon, only light sweet crude has. So we'll keep growing production after all.

Okay, I was just asking to test your thought processes. Personally, I'm skeptical about both global warming and peak oil.
