"Taken out of context, that quote doesn't really say whether I do or do not endorse it."

It is not out of context. The fact is that you accuse the conservatives of "situational ethics" while you berate them for ostensibly accusing the liberals of what you (a liberal) accuse the conservatives of doing. In other words, you are trying to tar them while you have already feathered yourself. No big deal...just something you ought to acknowledge.

I will slow it down for you, Allen. Your complaint was that conservatives were being hypocritical in accusing the liberals of situational ethics. But you accuse the conservatives of situational ethics while being a liberal. Now Allen...you are just as capable of pointing out situational ethics for liberals as you are for conservatives--RIGHT?? So why practice the hypocrisy you claim to be so against?? Why are you only accusing the conservatives of situational ethics??

"I think the reason you can't understand what I'm saying is that you insist on believing that "situational ethics" are a Bad Thing That Liberals Use and Conservatives Don't. In other words, you've bought into the Rush Limbaugh usage of the phrase"

I read a book by Limbaugh probably ten years ago. I am a Canadian and I do not hear his talk show, nor am I up to date on what you are referring to as his "usage of the phrase". I was strictly noting the hypocrisy of your approach. If you look at your posts you will find that they indicate a clear bias against conservatism. There is a clear pretense that conservatives use situational ethics while liberals do not. Is it fair to say that you are being hypocritical?? I would have no problem with you saying that some conservatives and some liberals apply situational ethics, but that fairmindedness does not come across in your posts.
