Barium Titanate is piezoelectric. That means if you squeeze a crystal a voltage develops across one dimension. Conversely if you put a voltage across that dimension, the crystal expands or contracts (in that dimension) depending on the polarity of the voltage. It is commonly used in ceramic capacitors. There are thousands of existing patents on its use, and I see little commercial value compared to chemical storage (e.g., conventional lithium ion battery).
