Just to make things clear I wasn't calling farmers (or anyone else) parasites. I was just asking how/why Mark draws the distinctions that he does.

Interesting story about your great grandfather.

In his case the land was subsidized but the subsidy was in response for other actions. Sort of an indirect way to pay for what he did.
