>>I read a book by Limbaugh probably ten years ago. I am a Canadian and I do not hear his talk show, nor am I up to date on what you are referring to as his "usage of the phrase". I was strictly noting the hypocrisy of your approach. If you look at your posts you will find that they indicate a clear bias against conservatism. There is a clear pretense that conservatives use situational ethics while liberals do not. Is it fair to say that you are being hypocritical?? I would have no problem with you saying that some conservatives and some liberals apply situational ethics, but that fairmindedness does not come across in your posts.<<

I'm sorry that you still don't get it at all. I am not saying that conservatives are bad because they use situational ethics. I am not even saying conservatives are bad, actually. What I'm saying, and have said plainly more than once already, is this:
Conservatives use the phrase "situational ethics" as a slur against Liberals, to imply that the Liberals have no real principles.
Since Conservatives also apply situational ethics (note the word "also" which implicitly shows that I agree that Liberals do use situational ethics), I find it hypocritical for them to use that phrase as a putdown of Liberals. That was my entire point.
Is that easy enough to follow?
Now, since Liberals do not use "situational ethics" as an accusation against Conservatives, I don't see why it's necessary for me to point out instances where they use them. I, by the way, did not use it as an accusation against conservatives, either. I only pointed out several examples where conservatives use them in order to show that their slur against liberals is hypocritical.
I also took care to point out that I believe situations should be considered when applying ethical standards, since real-life situations are rarely black and white.
Please note that of course I don't believe that every conservative is the same, nor every liberal. I'm using these labels and generalizations for convenience. I brought up the hypocrisy of the "situational ethics" phrase being used as a slur only because the phrase was used against me right here.
If you look at my posts, you will indeed find a bias, I'm sure. I am a participant in a political discussion, and have never claimed to have no biases. Is that a requirement here? I wouldn't think so, since the title of the thread indicates a bias against liberals. Do you believe that you don't have any biases?
I think your view that I am accusing one side of something while pretending the other isn't guilty of it stems from your own bias and what appears to be an almost willful misinterpretation of much of what I say.
