Bart, I've been trying to find that number (the reimbursement of interest back to the treasury). Do you have a link?

The Fed holds roughly $800 billion in treasury securities that likely generate $30+ billion per year in interest.

The cost of administration at the Fed can't possibly be anywhere close to that.

Unfortunately no, I've been looking for years and have as yet to find that link.

Between not being able to find it and the mandated 6% profit (6% profit on the ~$800 billion SOMA balance is $48 billion), I don't think it exists.
