I do believe John Edwards old "two Americas" argument has legs out there. On fair and balanced Fox news today they announced the two big job loss events of the day....a jeans manufacturer and (was it Chevron - can't remember), but then went right into a piece about how great the economy was and all their usual talking heads from the Saturday economic shows were wondering why the rank and file out there didn't think things were so great.....not ONE of them alluded to the 2000 jobs lost in their own network's announcement one minute before! Makes one wonder. People are told how they are supposed to feel, then they know how they actually feel....many people do not feel secure economically right now. And they are worried about job losses, retirement security, health care, et al. But to hear some tell it, the economy has never been better....and yet, not all are prospering, for sure. Don't get me wrong...I am pleased to see capital markets do well and new jobs be created. But I really worry over the death of the middle class. To me, that could be the ultimate class warfare story in about 2012.
