They won't.

I'd like to know where the 100 stories about Kerry are to the effect that he'll never admit when he's wrong. That's the persistent criticism and drumbeat about Bush.

Kerry was characterized as a "flip flopper" because he appeared to take contrary positions on a number of matters.

I think the truth about Kerry goes a little deeper and is illustrated by his handling of the current gaffe.

He should have simply apologized and moved forward. The remark was completely indefensible.

Instead, he lashed out at Republicans as though they were responsible for feeding him his lines. I guess it's similar to how they made him vote for the Iraq war.

The bottom line is that Kerry ALWAYS HAS TO BE RIGHT. He will not admit a mistake. If he makes a mistake, it's someone else's fault. In the case of the current comment, I think he expressed what he truly thinks about those in military service. That has to be why he didn't anticipate the fallout from such a remark. It fell off the tongue easily and had probably been uttered many times before in one form or another.
