Uran Stocks - TheSlowLane's holdings ...
note comment: TSL is an excellent poster and player
To: koan who wrote (3672) 11/1/2006 7:22:53 AM From: TheSlowLane Read Replies (1) of 3688 Koan - here is the complete list of what I am holding now and a couple of thoughts on each one.
Cash Minerals (CHX.V) - Fistful of highly prospective properties in the Yukon. Some assays are still pending, some field work is ongoing through November (until the water lines freeze). Dines likes it, Moriarty wrote a very nice article on it. Grab samples were impressive, we will see what the drill says. Mega just bought Twenty-Seven Capital, which was the JV partner on several of the Cash properties, so I guess Cash and Mega will be JV partners now.
Commander (CMD.V) - Promising holdings in the Hermitage area. Work program just announced yesterday. Results from previous efforts are pending. This is one of Rocket Red's picks...
Dejour Enterprises (DJE.V) - They just traded their uranium properties to Titan for a bunch of stock. Good position in the Athabasca and strong geo. team. These go to Titan now.
Energy Fuels (EVR.V) - I am still researching this one, but the more I know, the more I like it. Just wish I had bought it a year ago for a dime, instead of this week for $1.93US. Close to production with properties (ISL) in the US, apparently EFR has a team that would fit well with larger companies that are seeking to establish a larger US presence. I speculated over this with Dan Barnholden, who works for Pitchstone IR now. Dan used to work for BMO. Who did SXR's investment banking recently?
Forum Uranium (FDC.V) - Excellent properties in the Athabasca Basin and the Thelon Basin. They are drilling at Key Lake right now, in the southeastern part of the Basin. They will be flying over the Maurice Point Beach property on the opposite side of the Basin where there have been some very good surface showings. Progress report from the company yesterday on the Key Lake drilling seems to confirm their geological theories and shows anomolous radiation. Assays in November.
Nova Uranium (NUC.V) - These guys got mercilessly clobbered for the results they produced in the first round of drilling at Mont Laurier in Quebec. About 80% haircut, I think. Anyway, they learned a lot about the property and are back at it drilling right now. Some of the best results that they got on the first round were from intercepting a vertically-oriented dyke. They had been looking for horizontal structures. Now that they have a better idea what they are drilling, they should have a much better shot at hitting it this time around. Stock is starting to run here.
Pitchstone Exploration (PXP.V) - Very experienced management team. These guys have properties in the high-grade corridor part of the Basin where the biggest operating mines are (and also, the one that just flooded). Bunch of properties are JVed with SXR. This one has run nicely since Siempre mentioned it, but could be a good one for a LT hold.
Strathmore (STM.V) - Strathmore has two properties in the permitting process (New Mexico), are lining up three more in Wyoming for permitting and have the largest footprint of anyone in the Athabasca. They have very deep management experience, particularly with in situ recovery or in situ leach operations. This is key when you are looking at ISL companies...do they have the expertise? How permeable are their deposits? It's a tricky business, apparently. Strathmore has been on fire this week, but could go further if the volume maintains.
Titan Uranium (TUE.V) - With Dejour's properties, Titan now has a very notable land position in the Athabasca Basin. They are also working in the Thelon. Not a cheap stock, but probably one of the higher-quality exploration plays.
Universal Uranium (UUL) - Very busy drilling in Lisbon Valley, Utah right now and doing prep work in Labrador in the Central Mineral Belt (next to Aurora and Crosshair). I just got an e-mail from their IR person last night that does a good analysis of the CMB property. Will try to post it here. This one has been reluctant to get swept up in the latest bull move, but looks like it wants to get started now. Buyers have been patiently accumulating so far.
Uranium Power Corp. (UPC.V) - Have heard that this company is high on the list of possible acquisition targets for SXR. They are a JV partner with USEC. Those properties are getting bought by SXR, thus the speculation. In any case, they have had to maintain relative silence while SXR works through the USEC deal, but hopefully all of that will get wrapped up soon.
Would be interested in hearing other stories as well...
