Actually, I don't look much at the IRR's for mining projects. I look more at the NPV's to determine the value of projects. An IRR on a small project with little investment may look really big, but if the market cap of the company is big and the NPV of a key project is small, that might be a reason to sell. On the other hand, the IRR on a big project with big investment may look relatively small, but the scale of the project might make the NPV very big relative to the market cap, which may be a reason to buy.
