Hi, Jack,

Look at Garmins financial and one can hardly believe that Sirf is being so adversely affected when in fact Garmin sold more Sirf related PND's and is expected to sell more of Sirf PND's in the 4th quarter.

The margins are where Garmin was hurt but certainly it should not adversely affect Sirf. Garmin only uses Sirf chipsets in their top selling products and by accounts of report and guidance Garmin sold more of these units than anything else.

Garmin makes its own chips in their other devices for markets such as aviation and marine and these two markets have been a drag on revenues for Garmin because of late rollout of products.

The correlation does not make any sense and with SIRF venturing into other market applications for other revenue streams makes this even harder to understand.

Now, more and more gear makers are using SirfStarIII chipset, which has been shrinking in size and merging the two-chip into one and they are adding bluetooth into it, too.

The recently announced HTC PDA Phone, Tyco Electronics joint venture, and the HP iPaq rx5900 will make SirfChip everywhere. I can't see a better time to load the boat taking advantage of the weakness.
