One does not approach these matters by minimizing or by failing to see how things grow and how major threats develop. I hate to use Hitler, but he is well-known example of a nobody tramp who almost made totalitarianism a way of life for mankind's immediate (and perhaps longterm) future. I believe that all civilized people should be developing defenses right now to deal with what is certain to come.

Please remember that terrorists basically have no rules to follow. Therefore, their reach and potential for destruction is multiplied many many times. The possibilities are endless. I won't give them any ideas but I believe the terrorist potential in the face of any complacency or minimalization is severe. This is not a handful of fanatics. It is a nationalist movement.
