Syntax snob...<g> Yeah, that's me. And the term you use is almost exactly the one my wife used over breakfast this morning. She has no idea what I have in my mind. Which surprises me. Since she is always telling me she knows exactly what I'm thinking. That's, of course, at the very height of our arguments in which I say something like she misunderstands me. ;-( The ones on the list that come closest were portent and augery. The problem with each is that their meaning is tied to a signal from the future back to the present. I was looking for a meaning that encompassed a small symbolic moment which reconfigured the symbolic field. Still haven't found the term.
