If it was supposed to be a joke, what was the punchline? I know what his aides came up with the next day, but that sounds like backfilling. If it was a botched joke, why didn't he stop what he was saying right then and there and clarify? He didn't do that, he just kept right on going. He simply stated what's been on his mind for 30 years or so. straw person Way to jump on that PC bandwagon. ;-)
