He then said no - thats the teachers job.

Oh really!! It's the parent's responsibility (granted some give up their responsibility before conception). It's the teachers job to teach and keep order in the class. I wonder when that will ever come back into fashion... excuse me... just a little personal observation here :)

"""I said then why am I here?"""

hehehe... you get to be there so you can see how he failed in his job to defend the children... LOL..
I loved the question. Great for not giving him an out. He needs to learn to 'think' outside of his classroom/principal office box.

Verbal purgatory... hehehehe... love the expression :)

you said:"""""""""""I'm not going to argue in front of a child! """""""""""

From the way you have presented the mother previously, I would say that includes both of them (child)... she doesn't sound ready to do anything but defend 'darling baby'... anyway at this time.

you said:

""""""" We'll have a little pizza and have a man to little man talk and I'll make damn sure that he comes out a better kid because or in spite of what happened. I'm really proud that I allowed him to make the decision rather than doing it for him. He can't learn from my experiences anymore than I could learn from my fathers. You learn from personal experience and thats what we'll work with tonight.""""""

Two things... sounds neat about the pizza dinner and man to little :) man talk! and... you may not necessarily learn from another's experiences but I do think one makes many many decisions based not only on their own experiences but on their observations of others. He is also learning this evening how a good father deals with his son. That alone is worth Gold!

Thanks for the follow-up... :) I'm still smiling... verbal purgatory, indeed... hehehehe
