the big trouble with your propositiion of the POS6 is the leading edge just jumped into the backseat. Who else of the other mfgs are really pushing the leading edge of the envelope in overall platform designs? How about any of those are actually enabling the platforms out there with leading edge R&D and lowercost higher fucntion chipsets?

There was a reason that NOK never was able to produce a good working CDMA chipset and finally had to take the backdoor out of it.
