"Does anyone really think that the wars of the past did not have such problems?" Bush and Rumsfeld have tried to fight the conflict in Iraq using War "Lite". If he really felt he had to go to war with the Muslims in the Middle East then he should have really "brung it" - just like in WW II. Who cuts taxes during war time? All Bush thought about was defeating the conventional Iraqi Army. That was accomplished with 150,000 troops. However I would argue the unconventional Iraqi Army is still fighting and killing us and arguably winning the conflict. Its this scenario Bush never considered. Thats where he has failed miserably as C in C. Bush was told he would need as much as 700,000 troops in Iraq to succeed and he ignored the advice. Now look where that incompetence, and I would argue arrogance, has got us. We're in a quagmire.
