I've been through that with my oldest boy when he was in grade school. I understand the administration not wanting kids to just go off on their own and exact justice but I do see a need for when the system fails a child, for them to defend their selves. Teachers can't be everywhere all the time and they don't see everything. I've always told my kids when someone throws the first punch, try and walk away, if that's not possible and the punches keep coming, they have every right to beat that person to the ground if need be.
