Since gold is an international commodity, the driver of gold is impacted by events on an international basis. So, it is not just what the US is all about, even though we can dominate or move lots of markets, such as the dollar.

Those who really control the markets and where they want to put their money seems to be the driver. First its stocks, then real estate, gold mixed in, and the next area is the big question.
