In retrospect it’s quite obvious there was a headlong rush into Iraq without a lot of serious prior consideration. We had to rush in or their would be "mushroom clouds" as I recall. One only has to consider the "Mission Accomplished" speech to know where Bush's head was at in the beginning of the conflict in Iraq. As for Muslim barbarians why have we left them to prosper when we could have nailed them at Tora Bora if Rumsfeld and Cheney hadn't been infighting with the CIA? It seems to me Bush shoots first and asks the questions later - a somewhat questionable tactic for someone is charge of the world’s mightiest Military. However its not surprising that Bush doesn't understand war in that he avoided the war of his generation. No wonder others are nervous.
