That article contains some very chilling stuff.

What's most interesting to me, is that the impressions I have always had of Bush - that he was being led by the nose by his advisers, that he was a man reciting words and going through the motions, but who wasn't fully tuned in to the realities and complexities of the situations he was facing - seem to be confirmed by people who know him and the rest of the Administration well.

I think I would have preferred just to be wrong about him. Being right about this is scary.
