I don't understan Maurice. Why wouldn't plants need large leaves even if they were immersed in 100% C02? They would still need light.

And as for desert plants not being tall. You must let me take to the desert. Just east of here there are Ocotillo, further east and south there are Saguaro in Arizona and Cordon in Baja which grow to more than 40 feet high.

I have my own kitchen-sink theory about the Cordon and Saguaro. Too much light inhibits photosynthesis and high UV can damage plants as well as people. Being tall and vertical, they present a large surface area when the sun is low and "weak", and a much smaller area when the sun is high and "strong." They loose less water this way too.
