Actually, I was thinking of something bigger, much bigger. Cubic is peanuts compared to a major smart card manufacture pathfinder.com@@tkT1nAQA6xaYiSO3/fortune/1997/971013/fir6.html. I'm saying smart cards moving into the Big Apple in October is significant.

Now that Ramtron has Rohm on line and Hitachi soon to follow, we can expect FRAM to start showing up in smart cards. Who? I don't know yet, but I'm betting FRAM will be there.

I take back what I said about Phillips as being a licensee of Ramtron techstocks.com. Considering the Fortune article and what's happening in Holland, I now believe Phillips could be a contender for FRAM. Recall we talked about Chipknip and its competitor, Chipper, a year ago. I had forgotten about them. They should be about ready for a second generation smart card.

BTW Barb, did you catch the new KEYWORD; Smart Plastic!
