Been looking around the web for stats. Best I could do was roughly 15% of AIDS patients get KS. Furthermore for the three years 1992-94, there were 11,000 new cases reported. Estimated total of 15,000 new cases (assuming 4k unreported). These figures are for USA. Given this, my guess would then be between 22K new cases of KS every year WORLDWIDE, or perhaps in the First World. Of course with the new AIDS cocktail, more people will be living longer with AIDS, so more may get KS. On the other hand, many HIV postive people who take the new cocktail may never get AIDS, thus lowering the incidence of KS. Perhaps someone who is more familiar with AIDS and KS could comment.
