I took a hit on Unit Trusts also... Seniors shouldn't be investing in that sort of instrument if they can't afford to. They should realize the risk. If they're deriving income from it, they've not lost anything if they haven't sold. By not buying Canadian stocks, you've missed some pretty remarkable returns over the past 12 months. Your call.
