I don't think there were many shorts at all. I think it's the combination of the extreme undervaluation, management's road show with institutions, and the lifting of the weight of the big seller who had pressured the stock down the last few months. Also, many had stayed away from the stock purely because it was on the bulletin board, and the Amex listing takes away the one impediment that kept them from investing.

Despite the sudden jump, the stock's still only recovered about half the loss from the May high. With zinc having broken out much higher since then, silver recovering, and international institutions coming on board, IMO it's only a matter of time before MMG breaks out to a new high.
