My Point Darren
is that nobody gets charged in Canada. Enron happened, and people are paying the price. Who paid for Bre-X? Or Nortel?
I am not saying the US is perfect, I am saying our markets lack any form of accountability. Why was Conrad Black charged in the US, but not in Canada? Did he only commit a crime in the US or did the crime happen in Canada? To say well look at Enron, it isn't that we don't have our enrons, it is that we don't prosecute our enrons. Companies donating illegally in the US are prosecuted, people donating illegally in Canada got their money back, that is the difference. Just like Adscam, the Judge had no power to lay charges, that was someone elses job, and they waited until the statute of limitations was almost over so that the inquiry didn't go too deep. Canadian law is a joke. Who was charged over the 2 Billion dollar over run at the gun control? no one, it wasn't even looked into.
