So what is NVT really buying? 1. Traffic.com has some "pretty" software, but there are many other "pretty" traffic displays - just watch TV in the morning. 2. Traffic.com is all about advertising revenue. You want traffic, you go here and see the ads, and click on them. There may be some other small revenue from subscribers, but that will never be much. 3. Traffic.com is also a giant traffic data processing box. It gets fed traffic data from multiple sources and spits out the "pretty" summary. The question is "how much is this worth?" A lot of the incoming data is available free to everyone - it comes from city and state sources. However, traffic.com does have two things that have some tangible value. One is the network of road sensors, and the other is the system/staff in place to integrate the incoming traffic data. ......
