You don't have to go that far back in history to make your point. It is now established fact that the Administration intended the sanctions on Iraq to bring about the death of hundreds and thousands of children due to starvation and preventable disease... It could have been denied except for Madeline Albright's public comment when asked about the deaths of 500,000 children under the age of five that could be attributed directly to the policy of imposing sanctions. Her response was simply, "We think it's worth it." This was the number one reason why I protested the sanctions and supported a more direct approach that targeted only the true enemy, The Regime of Saddam Hussein.
