I'm a bear on many things, but I am not so pessimistic.

I recall people en masse got up in the 60's and helped end another pointless war. Some others screamed that black people were equal to white people.

We all make suckers bets from time to time, and I'm willing to accept those odds as our debt laden empire implodes.

And if not, then I will position to profit anyway <g>
